YEAR ONE
INTRODUCTION TO ART & DRAWING I
(fall and spring) prepares students with basics of color theory, art history lectures, elements and principles of art through design projects and what keeping a sketchbook means to a budding artist. We will work towards rendering 2D drawings using basic shapes and stressing the usage of good observational and thinking skills for composition of line, value, shapes and forms. Exploration of mediums such as graphite, charcoal, etc. along with strong applications of use of rulers. Expect to be involved with spatial problem solving and rendering techniques.

YEAR TWO
Painting I (Fall and Spring) WATER BASED MEDIA is a beginning painting course that develops observational skills and manipulation techniques in Watercolor and Acrylics. PAINTING WITH OIL is an introductory painting course and will start with basics of oil properties into comprehensive understandings of mark making and full rendering.
YEAR THREE
DRAWING/PAINTING INTERMEDIATE: Intensifying the development of skills by observation into still life, face, figure.
AP/ART STUDIO is for advancing high school art students to further their studies in a variety of mediums. Observation, Expression, and Interpretation are the core components along with illustration and design. ILLUSTRATION is a visual art that often accompanies a narrative. Storybook, Children's Literature, Fairytales, Editorial, Poster and more. A variety of illustration techniques will be explored and demonstrated in a range of mediums. SEQUENTIAL ART and storyboarding is a class that requires a strong focus on drawing and moving composition. You will design your own characters, storyline and comic book.
PORTFOLIO is designed for students preparing to apply to college art programs. Time to get serious and understanding art criticism will be professionally instructed in four steps.

GRAPHIC DESIGN (Laptop, photoshop and illustrator required) examines 2D Design Elements and Principles and stretches them into gestalt, visual communication and effective problem solving projects such as logo, branding, exploring form, professionalism, etc.
